Ramko Research PS-1 Stereo Broadcast Tape Cartridge Machine (Working Order). SERIAL #252.Here we have a Ramko Research model PS-1 Stereo Broadcast Tape Cartridge Machine in working order. This machine performs well in playing a stereo cartridge and the cartridge re-cues after it has played. This is a basic stereo tape cartridge player. This machine DOES have the fast forward option! The fast forward may need a slight adjustment as some carts do not re-cue in fast forward! Make sure your carts have good pressure pads! This machine appears to always cue up a cart with the standard Primary cue tone as what most users prefer to do! The motor is quiet with good bearings. The output on both channels has been set for equal gain. The playback sounds great on BOTH channels. Both the Start and the Stop lamps are working ok! The Stop lamp FLASHES when the cartridge has stopped by the Primary cue tone. The Stop lamp does not go out when the cartridge is removed which is a minor issue due to one of the tape sensors needs adjusting. The Stop lamp goes out when the Play button is pressed which turns on the Play lamp. The pressure roller has been replaced! The stereo heads are in excellent condition and have NEVER been adjusted! The Secondary tone (green led) and the Tertiary tone (yellow led) light up when these tones are detected. This machine is equipped with DNR (Dolby Noise Reduction) and there is a switch on the playback card to disable it if desired! The switch is in the "ON" position. This machine DOES NOT have a top cover since it was used as a rack unit. I installed 4 rubber feet which can be easily removed if desired! There are 6 mounting screws installed (3 on each side) if you decide to make your own top cover! I have 4 of these machines available with very close serial numbers. If you purchase 2 machines, I shall include a FREE instruction and maintenance manual! I have included 2 music carts and they both sound great and re-cue on this machine. This machine performs nice!
